Solid polyurethane (PU) belting
Depending upon the application we can offer traditional solid PU belting with or without tensile members. Our belts are suitable for high loads and heavy impact and the special construction will prolong belt life and improve tracking and general belt performance. Monolithic belts deliver higher efficiency and hygiene standards.
They are self-tracking, food approved, feature no contaminant fabrics, run under no tension and have no splits, gaps or voids. A test of antimicrobial capability in a US pork plant versus a polyurethane belt delivered an average value of 19.6cfu/in2 over two days. The operational limit was 1500cfu/in2.
The polyurethane material is strong, with high impact resistance. This keeps its surface smooth and easy to clean. Like our sprocket-driven belts, these are USDA-accepted, suitable for wash down environments and can be cleaned to a microbiological level. They can be cleaned on the conveyor using less water (around 78% less water in a recent in a US test in a pork processing plant).
We can make either a finger or butt splice to optimise the belts performance and ensure smooth installation on site. Maintenance managers can improve the running of plant with better belt fasteners. The weakest part of any belt is the splice or join and making a small adjustment can extend the product lifetime. We can advise on metal grades, pins and lacing types to get a better return on your application.

Monolithic belts offer the highest level of hygiene and virtually eliminate plastic and fabric contamination. Our Aramid reinforced Mafdel monolithic belting combines both consistent low tension drive and hygiene. It is designed to provide precise positioning and excellent tracking. Any configuration of cleats/flights and attachments can by hygienically welded to its surface. They can be 20mm to 80mm high. Lateral trapezoid-shaped guides can be HF welded with no compromise to hygiene.
